SCC Meeting Minutes

- Welcome
- Reviewed meeting notes from November
- No revisions needed- Unanimous approval of minutes
- Review school safety concerns
- Speeding on Sego Lily/Ridgemark: Officer Zachrison (SRO) updated that random checks have not shown any speeding issues, but he will continue to monitor.
- Cold Weather may be a deterrent to individuals making Molotov cocktails – no recent incidents caught on camera, but police/canyons security are now making random checks
- Heavy snow/plowing has caused some parking lot difficulties
- Current social emotional data presented by Katie Vantassell
- SRSS-IE scores- teacher observations of student wellbeing
- ~20% of students appear to have struggles in both internal and external risk ratings – consistent with previous school year- increased since pandemic
- Attendance –
- Chronic absenteeism is reduced from last year, but still high at 23%
- On-Track Attendance is improving – Weekly bulletins are helpful to educate parents
- Discipline
- Office referrals are reduced from last year
- Increased referrals in 1st and 2nd grade has been noted – this also may be a result of the pandemic and reduce socialization prior to formal schooling
- Minor incidents are also reduced substantially
- This has been a process focus and interventions appear to be successful
- Students of Color (Minority Status)
- Higher rates of absenteeism and higher SRSS-IE scores
- Acadience testing is January 4th and 5th – data to be reviewed at next month’s meeting
