PTA News
-Science fair went well
-30th will be the kickoff for literacy month. It will be an olympic theme
Principal News
- End of term two is Thursday
- Report cards will be sent home on Jan 23
- 4 teachers retiring – went over what the process is for placing teachers in grades for next school year.
- We have 33 permit requests for next year. They will all be accepted, this may take us over 300 students
- New director of HR
Safety Drill Reports
- We did our fire drill yesterday. Our preschool participated in this
- We were out of the building and accounted for within 5 minutes.
- Next month’s drill is Hazardous materials
Review of council’s stewardship items – Land Trust Funds, TSSA budgets
- Landtrust $52,892. We still have just over $36,000. This only pays for our reading aides.
- We may need to do an amendment. Halley will talk with BLT about their thoughts on what to spend the money on.
2025-2026 TSSP – goals or ideas, input from members.
- This pays for math interventionists, part of Mrs. Baird’s salary, PBIS store (school and class)
- We still have $65,978
Cell Tower Budget
- We have about $50,000
- Can some of the budget be used to on retirement party/gifts
TSSP goals
- 20206-2027 plan – are there any gaps that the SCC is wanting to add to this goal
- If you hear the community express thoughts/concerns about ways we can improve, bring them to our SCC meetings.
- Possibly some type of activity for all students, not just an enrichment for the higher learners
2025 Teacher of the Year
- It’s open now. Closes February 5th
- Halley will hand out the nominations that are received to all the teachers
- Halley asked the community to nominate teachers
- Explained how teacher of the year is chosen
2024-25 Land Trust Final Report
- 80% of students will reach typical or above typical progress in Acadience reading
- 90% of students will reach typical or above typical progres sin Acadience math.
- We were short on our goal with both of these, but we were close
- 80% of students will be in the low risk category in behaviors (SRSSIE). We reached 79.9%
Acadience Scores
- Went over the winter scores and the progress that was made. Overall our school has shown some great progress. Many of our yellow/red kiddos made typical or above typical growth.
